On Saturday, March 5, the combined effort to provide health services to precarious populations in Mexico City continued, carried out with the support of the ChektNow clinical laboratory as well as Mi Valedor. The lack of access to health services is one of the many consequences of extreme marginalization, and which is acutely suffered by people living on the streets. In response to the situation, the solidarity apartments represent an initiative that confronts this social phenomenon from a logic of shared housing. From this perspective, both people who were homeless and young professionals can create a space for mutual support. This time, the meeting space for the vaccination was Casa Lázaro, the first solidarity apartment project in Mexico and Latin America with accommodation capacity for 10 people, whose floating population area has also served to more than 800 since the pandemic began, through dining room services, a doctor’s office, clothing delivery and workshops.
