We were honored to participate in the Conference on Homelessness in South America 2023, dedicated to deep-diving into the complexities of homelessness in our country and exploring innovative solutions to compact the social challenges it presents.
We examined the root causes of homelessness, ranging from economic and social factors to those relating to mental health and addiction. The complexity and impact on the lives of those effected by these factors became extremely apparent through the presentation and analysis of the key facts and arguments.
Furthermore, we reviewed successful government policies implemented in other South American countries. We openly shared the lessons learnt and discussed how these strategies may be adapted to tackle homelessness in different contexts.
The conference left us with a clear notion of the importance preparation will play in tackling these challenges effectively.
