This March 29th we had a talk and a practical workshop between collaborators of Mi Valedor, El Caracol A.C. and the photojournalist Andrea Murcia about the role of women in subversive art, for which we worked on a writing exercise based on a photograph by Andrea. This workshop/conversation took place thanks to the work of the Mexican Debate Association who organized the event and thanks to the Adecco Association who lent us their facilities.
Many thanks to everyone who made this event possible!
On Friday, June 26, the Mi Valedor team took part as a guest at FEZME, a vibrant fanzine fair held at La Esmeralda School of Arts, located within Mexico’s National Center for the Arts (CENART). The festival brought together a wide range of independent projects, students, and artists to share their work and creative practices. It provided an ideal space for exchanging ideas, engaging with community-based art, and celebrating the free expression of the participating collectives.
On July 4, Discozine brought together independent projects, record collectors, and music lovers at The Big Wings & Burgers in Santa María la Ribera for a free community event. Throughout the day, attendees browsed vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, and fanzines, while live DJs provided the soundtrack.
Magic took shape in every corner of Doméstico MX with a new edition of the Mercadillo Mágico—a space that brought together art, design, creativity, and community in an atmosphere full of color, music, and lots of good vibes.
