Pull-Up Challenge, Cascarita Musikal, and Mi Valedor at Utopía Azcapotzalco

This weekend, while Spain and Argentina battled for the World Cup title, the collective San Felinos invited Mi Valedor to join a friendly game of street football (cascarita) with the Azcapo community at Utopía Azcapotzalco. With music setting the mood, attendees spent a warm afternoon enjoying the event alongside family and friends.

From midday onward, the community market was in full swing, featuring prints, handmade jewelry, stickers, and even miniature 3D-printed creations that quickly became a favorite among younger visitors. Mi Valedor stood out among the many urban art initiatives, with Valedor Pancho taking the opportunity to chat with attendees, share his experiences, and encourage people to learn more about the project, sparking genuine interest among those who stopped to listen.

The community market also brought together artists who spent the afternoon hanging out, chatting with visitors, and keeping one eye on San Felinos’ performance while the other stayed on their tables filled with unique merchandise. Projects including La Vista desde Arriba, Huitzilin Bazar, Mi Valedor, and Las Tlacuachas—offering vegan products—shared their work in a spirit of solidarity, grassroots creativity, and the positive energy that defined the event throughout the day.

Once everything was set, attendees settled in with a vegan hot dog in one hand and an ice-cold Boing in the other, ready to enjoy performances by bands including Huitlacoche Fungicida, Postuma, Moonshiba, Naturemind, and Rainbow Machine Palace. Blending alternative rock, cumbia, perreo, and blues, their music invited everyone to laugh, dance, cry, and reflect on life and the sorrows we all carry with us.

Behind the stage, those looking to take a break gathered for a friendly game of street football, which concluded with participation prizes thanks to the collective Letras en las Venas. The collective also challenged attendees to a kick-up competition. After plenty of second chances and rematches, the winner took home a patch generously sponsored by Las Tlacuachas.

Mi Valedor extends its heartfelt thanks to Utopía Azcapotzalco for welcoming us into such a wonderful space—an ideal place to take our minds off Spain’s victory for a while. We are also grateful to San Felinos for creating opportunities to share experiences, enjoy a joyful afternoon, and celebrate the best football tricks alongside Mi Valedor.
