The word community detonates multiple reflections in the paper’s participants. This time, the concept was a central theme that allowed them to develop and expand on different works.
Get to know the Valedores’ creative process in preparation for Mirada Camarada, our first collective exhibition!
The weeks prior to the exhibition’s inauguration were filled with heady work for the Valedores, as well as for the editorial team, who accompanied them during the creation, edition and selection process. During a period that lasted more than 8 weeks, the Valedores worked on each of their pieces within their area of choice: photography, drawing, or text.
The first group meeting consisted of brainstorming everyone’s perception on building community (given that this was the exhibition’s main narrative axis), from the way in which each Valedor perceived their daily life to how they imagined it in symbolic terms. These ideas were all an initial prompt so that each Valedor could choose how to participate. We had many weeks filled with creativity, companionship and community!
Here are some pictures of how the process went.

That was the challenge put before our team and they excelled. Some of our ‘Valedors’ were even […]

This is the first book to be published by Mi Valedor and serves as a platform for David to share his story about leaving his homeland in search of […]
