Foro 2025 became a living space of reflection, archiving, resistance, and community thanks to the Visual Memory Fair—a gathering organized by FotoObservatorioMX, Museo Soumaya, and Hydra—that left our minds and hearts full of meaningful images.
Over two intense days, the forum was filled with talks, panel discussions, screenings, exhibitions, publications, zines, books, photography, art, and memory. Questions such as how memories are constructed, who preserves them, which narratives are left out of the frame, and how we can collectively reclaim our visual histories guided every activity.
Amid stands of editorial projects, independent archives, photobooks, and materials not found just anywhere, there was also space for the exchange of knowledge, horizontal dialogue, and the building of networks among artists, researchers, activists, and curious attendees.
At Mi Valedor, we deeply celebrate these spaces where images are not only seen but also reflected upon and transformed. Visual memory is also a tool for struggle, community, and resistance against forgetting.
“Thank you to FotoObservatorioMX, Museo Soumaya, and Hydra for opening this forum to such a rich diversity of voices and perspectives. We left inspired and motivated to continue creating, remembering, and telling stories through visual language.”
