Starting the second week of February, Mi Valedor organized a vaccination day in which our collaborators provide medical support, the influenza vaccine, and tests for HIV and syphilis detection. On the other hand, those who attended got glucose tests and blood pressure measurements.
The second day of the Health Fair was held in the neighborhood known as “La Conchita”, a spot in the Historic downtown where the Chapel of the Concepción Cuepopan is located, which dates from the 18th century and was named after the native neighborhood of Santa María Cuepopán.
The relation with this particular space refers to the end of the 19th century, this place was called “de Los Muertos” chapel, its construction was used as a morgue for those who did not have money for their burial. In other words, homeless people. It currently represents a historical monument around which this day was gathered in order to facilitate access to health for what is still one of the most vulnerable populations in the City.
With the support of the UNAM Faculty of Medicine and the Condesa Clinic, as well as the ChektNow medical laboratory, the fair continued for a second day.
