The aroma of art, history, and creativity came together during a very special visit by Mi Valedor to the Perfume Museum (MUPE), located in the heart of Mexico City. This space, dedicated to exploring the magic and legacy of fragrances, turned into a multisensory journey that left everyone captivated.
From the sacred rituals of ancient Egypt to the sophisticated bottles of today’s great perfume houses, the Valedores embarked on a guided tour filled with knowledge and surprises. Each room in the museum revealed fascinating details about how perfume has accompanied humanity through the ages, evolving from a symbol of divinity to an intimate expression of identity.
Highlights of the tour included:
Iconic bottles and their evolution: Exquisite blown-glass flacons, vintage designs, and contemporary pieces that show perfume is not just scent—it’s also visual art.
Culture and fragrance: The Valedores learned how ancient civilizations used aromas in ceremonies, medicine, and daily life.
The visit included a must-see stop at MUPE’s sensory lab, a space where the Valedores explored the artistry behind fragrance:
Identifying olfactory notes: Top, heart, and base—each with its own character and essence.
Create your own olfactory story: The Valedores discovered how fragrances tell stories and evoke emotions, from the freshness of a sunny day to the intensity of a romantic night.
Memories through scent: In this space, they shared personal connections to specific smells, recalling special moments from their lives.
Perfume Was More Than a Sensory Experience—It Sparked Artistic and Cultural Reflections
For the Valedores, this visit became a springboard for exploring new forms of creativity—from capturing a scent in an illustration to translating olfactory emotions into words or images.
Beyond learning about the art of perfume, the Valedores experienced a day full of inspiration and connection, reflecting on how scents tell stories and link us to our cultural and personal roots. Experiences like this prove that art isn’t just something you see or hear—it’s something you breathe!
Thank you to MUPE for opening its doors and giving us an unforgettable experience. We’re excited to keep exploring new ways to bring art and culture closer to our Valedores.
